Some 11 years have passed since our operations director was last called into action to redress tools, however just like riding a bike, you never forget how to do it especially when the tools are designed with end users in mind.
The 2-1/2" heavy duty rental toolstring was stripped, the component functions explained, before being redressed in-front of the client, thereafter allowing the client's personnel to perform the same tasks.
Overwhelming feedback on the toolstring was that it was very easy to strip, redress and rebuild with minimal internal components enhancing the field redress ability. Simple coil spring design in the jars eliminates the requirement for calibration, where errors could be made, affording a more efficient turnaround on the toolstring between runs.
With the springs HALO hold in stock, this toolstring is perfectly suited to slickline operations, both 0.125" & 0.160", delivering consistent impacts at the respective over-pulls. At 27ft long fully stroked open, it is a compact toolstring limiting the lubricator requirements.
Also on display was the 3-1/2" rotary broach system, again simplistic in design, yet very efficient at clearing scale from the tubing walls.
